About me:

You're probably here because something in your life isn't quite working. Maybe you don’t know what you’re feeling or what "it" is - just that it’s heavy to carry. Or you do know, and it’s unbearable.

Whatever the case, I won’t pretend to have easy answers or neatly packaged mantras that'll offer a quick fix - if that worked, you wouldn’t be here. I won’t prescribe an idealised version of who you should be - chances are, you’ve already had a lifetime of that from others.

But I do offer something real: a space where we can make sense of things together and work collaboratively to find out what "forward" looks like for you, with honesty, curiosity and care.

So here's what you can expect from me: I'll offer a relationship where you can speak freely, without needing to filter, perform or apologise for what’s hard to say. I’ll be present. I’ll listen carefully. I’ll speak plainly but respectfully. I’ll meet you as a fellow human, not a blank slate or an expert with a clipboard. I’ll challenge you when it’s helpful, and back off when it’s not. If I don’t understand, I’ll ask. If I make mistakes, I’ll take responsibility. I won’t treat you like a problem to be solved, or something broken that needs fixing.

I work with people who are anxious, grieving, disconnected, burnt out, perfectionistic, uncertain, numb, searching, self-critical, angry, afraid - and everything in between. Some come with a clear issue to address. Others show up because life feels off-kilter and they’re not sure why. Both are valid. We’ll figure it out as we go and keep with it if we get stuck. There are no certainties in this work, but I will stick with you and keep showing up for the process.

Talk-therapy, in my experience, isn’t about becoming someone new - it’s about returning to yourself, maybe for the first time.

I offer a free 20-minute conversation over the phone or video call so that we can see if we'd be a good match for counselling.
