About me:

Hey, I'm Jonathan, a counsellor who works in London and online.

I graduated as a psychosynthesis counsellor in 2024 and now works in private practice in my therapy room, a former shipping container called “The Self Container” as well as at the Psychosynthesis Trust and online.

I enjoy working with clients from all walks of life, with a special interest in addiction issues following from volunteering at the charity Waythrough, and, as a gay man, issues facing the LGBTQ+ community.

My research interest is in the application of play/playful processes for adults to feel less caught in low self esteem and value or feelings of brokenness and failure and to engage vulnerability, presence, joy and explore how people can connect to less abstract experiences - all of which stems from my many years attending and leading clowning workshops.

My path to my counselling training emerged from two complementary journeys: one through charity work preserving cultural traditions in threatened communities, which deepened my connection to spirituality, ritual, and the healing that feels so missing from modern life; the other through theatre, which cultivated creative energy, imagination, and a comfort with risk, fear, and possibility— which has proved a good foundation for counselling.

I also work as a Study Tutor at my training institution, the Psychosynthesis Trust, and enjoy the challenge of teaching students and deepening my own relationship to theory and practice while guiding students through the practical challenges of becoming a counsellor.
