Tameside and Glossop's specialist mental health service for children and adolescents, previously known as Healthy Young Minds, provides dedicated support to young people experiencing a range of mental health challenges. You can reach us on 0161 716 3600.
We assist individuals up to the age of 16, with some specific pathways extending support to those between 16 and 18 years old. Our expertise covers a wide array of conditions, including but not limited to anxiety, depression, eating disorders, psychosis, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. We also offer help with issues such as self-harm, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and more intricate psychological difficulties.
Beyond direct patient care, we play an active role in supporting other organisations. This includes offering expert consultation, providing valuable advice, and delivering essential training to various agencies. We welcome referrals from a broad spectrum of professionals, ensuring that young people can access the help they need through multiple channels. Our team comprises a diverse group of highly skilled clinicians, including psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, and psychologists, all bringing their unique expertise to benefit the young people we serve.
To streamline the referral process, all applications for child and adolescent mental health services in Tameside and Glossop are now managed through a unified single point of access team. This initiative is a collaborative effort with Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council Early Help, designed to ensure a more efficient and coordinated approach to care. Professionals wishing to make a referral should complete the multi-agency referral service (MARS) form. Once submitted, each referral undergoes a thorough review by our mental health professionals, who then ensure the child or young person is directed to the service best suited to their individual needs.
