Welcome to the Recovery Lounge Manchester, a crucial non-clinical safe space located in the vibrant heart of Manchester city centre. Tailored specifically for individuals navigating a mental health crisis, this vital service is proudly delivered in collaboration with Turning Point. Our dedicated team, comprised of experienced Recovery Workers and Peer Support Workers, is committed to providing individually tailored emotional support and strengths-based problem-solving, available both in person and over the phone.

At the Recovery Lounge, our mission is to deliver person-centred mental health support with unwavering empathy, compassion, and respect. We understand the diverse nature of mental health challenges and are equipped to provide practical coping skills and compassionate emotional support for a wide array of difficulties. This includes, but is not limited to, navigating suicidal thoughts, addressing self-harm, managing anxiety, building self-esteem, developing effective anger management, improving time management and planning, fostering crucial self-care routines, and offering support for experiences like hearing voices. Our experienced workers listen attentively, supporting individuals in finding solutions to move forward and offering valuable coping techniques for various issues.

We also offer guidance on other organisations that provide longer-term coping strategies and provide information on local resources for broader needs such as substance abuse, housing, finance, and employment. It is important to note that while the Recovery Lounge focuses on emotional support and connection to appropriate services, we do not offer medical treatment or psychological therapy.

Accessing the Recovery Lounge Manchester is designed to be as straightforward as possible. If you reside in Manchester or are registered with a Manchester GP, you can easily self-refer to our service by completing a referral form on the day you wish to attend. Friends, family members, or other professionals who believe you would benefit from our crisis support are also welcome to make referrals. Once a referral form is completed, a time is scheduled for you to attend or be called by a staff member.
