In Croydon, the Family Justice Service (FJS) provides independent, confidential, and non-judgmental assistance to anyone experiencing domestic abuse, regardless of their gender.
We offer a range of crucial services. This includes emotional and personal guidance, advocacy and help connecting with other essential services like housing, children's services, and adult social care. We also provide risk assessment and safety planning, advice on benefits eligibility, referrals to mental health professionals, and support with applying for non-molestation or occupation orders, as well as assistance in securing legal advice.
Our team of Independent Domestic Abuse Advocates (IDVAs) are experts. They'll carry out a comprehensive review of your situation to offer the most suitable guidance. Even if long-term support isn't possible, they'll still provide crucial safety advice and point you towards an appropriate service.
If the FJS is managing your case, you'll be assigned a dedicated caseworker. This individual will champion your needs and help you to better understand the dynamics of abuse.
Domestic abuse can impact anyone. Our support is available to all, no matter your age, gender or gender reassignment, sexual orientation, community, faith, or cultural background. We also support those regardless of their immigration status or access to public funds, or any disability (whether registered or not) or mental health condition (diagnosed or undiagnosed).
You can refer yourself to the FJS by calling or emailing us. We can arrange both emergency and pre-booked appointments. For your safety, we don't publish our address; please contact us by phone or email to get it. Alternatively, you can complete our self-referral form.
