We offer a dedicated Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) right here in the local area, designed to support children and young people experiencing emotional or behavioural difficulties. We understand that sometimes young people can feel incredibly distressed, overwhelmed with anger, or might be acting in ways that seem out of character. Often, it's their family, carers, friends, or teachers who express significant concern about their well-being.

Our service is here to assist individuals from their pre-school years right up to their 16th birthday, or even until they turn 18 if they're still in full-time education. We typically get involved when there are serious and ongoing worries about a young person's emotional state or their behaviour, suggesting a deeper underlying issue.

Accessing our service usually begins with a referral from a healthcare professional. This could be your GP or a hospital doctor, especially if an urgent assessment is needed. We also accept referrals from school nurses and health visitors. To make this process straightforward, a specialised CAMHS referral form is readily available on our website.

If you believe that speaking with someone from our CAMHS team would be beneficial, the first step is to discuss this with a trusted adult. This could be your parent or guardian, or perhaps your doctor or school nurse. They will then be able to guide you through the referral process and explain what you can expect next.

While our friendly team is primarily based at two main locations – Fieldhead in Bradford (you can reach them on 01274 723 241) and Hillbrook in Keighley (their number is 01535 661 531) – you don't always have to come to us. We understand that attending appointments at these sites might not always be convenient. To make our service as accessible as possible, we can often arrange to meet you at a location that suits you better, such as your school or a local health centre. We aim to be flexible and accommodate your needs.
