We wanted to create a national platform full of inspirational ideas that can positively impact your mental health regardless where you live. We wanted to showcase the very best local actvities near to you that helps others in your community live happier and healthier lives. With the hope that If it works for them, it might work for you.

It was important to us that Gives You Joy remains free, because access to help and support that assists you with living a happy and healthy life shouldn't be based on how much you earn.

Gives You Joy was founded by somone who knows what rock bottom feels like, and as a result our focus will always be based around how we can improve and maintain the mental wellbeing of our community.    

We honestly belive that improving your mental health shouldn't always come at a financial cost and that is why Gives You Joy is free to use and will always remain so.

We also want you to discover the very best activities in your local area, that is why we don't charge local activity owners and organisations to be listed on the Gives You Joy website. 

Additionally the ranking order or each activity is exclusively determined based on their Gives You Joy rating, and how they positively help others in their local community improve their mental health.

Our mission and purpose does come at a financial cost, so there are areas of the website like our wellbeing tools section, and counselling sections where we actively partner with relevant organistions and generate a fee for advertising services.
